COMMUNITY SERVICEIn addition to our human resources and recruiting work, HumCap is also dedicated to improving the lives of North Texas locals. Engaging our core values of Integrity, Respect, Excellence and Teamwork, we participate in a variety of service projects for the local community through various charitable organizations such as Entrepreneurs For North Texas.
Over the years, HumCap has participated in the EFNT’s Plug N’ Play and Freedom Day events. These opportunities are designed to harness each company’s corporate assets to serve the community’s social needs while also providing a positive environment for a community of like-minded corporate citizens. Freedom Day, held on September 11th, is organized to honor the lives lost and changed in 2001. For Freedom Day 2012, HumCap and the other members of the EFNT network partnered with the City of Dallas’ GrowSouth Initiatives to help improve the Sarah Zumwalt Middle School, located in one of the highest poverty stricken neighborhoods in the midst of a high crime area in Dallas. In addition to painting the entire school to reflect school colors and create a more welcoming atmosphere, various items such as flat screen televisions, washers/dryers, a years’ supply of detergent and softener and even a room full of fitness equipment were donated. Similarly, the Plug N’ Play events are community service projects arranged by EFNT which benefit nonprofit organizations such as the North Texas Food Bank and Texas Trees Foundation. The latest service event at the North Texas Food Bank consisted of assembling produce boxes for the Food 4 Kids and Senior Food programs. These programs help provide the basic necessities for thousands of people around Dallas who are in need. HumCap employees and their family members also maintain active philanthropic habits outside the company, donating their time, efforts and money to great organizations such as the Children’s Medical Center, Bill Glass Prison Ministry, SPCA, Wounded Warrior Project, JDRF and the United Way. HumCap maintains a strong commitment to improving the local community of North Texas and fostering a sense of philanthropy within its staff. |
